Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a connector that is suited to miniaturization, and without resulting in an increased number of constituent components or assembly steps, makes it possible to mate and connect connector housings to each other using as little or even less force than with a lever-type connector. The male connector housing (10) in the present invention is provided with: a protrusion (14), the tip of which protrudes further back than the back end (20b) of a female connector housing (20) when positioned at the point where mating with said female connector housing (20) begins; and a rod-support hole (15) formed in the tip (14a) of the protrusion (14) such that the tip of a separate rod-shaped member (31) can be inserted therein. The female connector housing (20) in the present invention is provided with: a raised part (23) opposite the tip (14a) of the aforementioned protrusion (14); and a sloped surface (24) that the outer surface of the middle section of the rod-shaped member (31) can contact when the tip thereof has been inserted into the rod-support hole (15). By inserting the rod-shaped member (31) through the rod-support hole (15) and pressing said rod-shaped member into the sloped surface (24), the male and female connector housings (10 and 20) are mated to each other.
