Abstract:
A rotor (2) has: a rotor core (21) that has a magnet insertion hole (21a) and an opening (21c); and a permanent magnet (22) that is inserted into the magnet insertion hole (21a) and that forms a first magnetic pole. When a first maximum width of the opening (21c) in a direction orthogonal to the radial direction is defined as L1 and a second maximum width of the opening (21c) in the radial direction is defined as L2, the rotor (2) satisfies L1 < L2. The distance from the opening (21c) to the magnet insertion hole (21a) is smallest at the magnetic pole center (c1) of the first magnetic pole.
