Abstract:
A constant speed joint for a propeller shaft that is provided between a first propelling shaft and a second propelling shaft of the propeller shaft and interconnects the first propelling shaft and the second propelling shaft, the constant speed joint being provided with: an outer ring member that has a cylindrical shape and connects with the first propelling shaft and in which outer ring groove portions formed with a given angle to the direction of the rotational axis of the constant speed joint are provided recessed in the inner peripheral surface of the outer ring member; ball members that are arranged in the outer ring groove portions; a holder that is provided on the inner peripheral side of the outer ring member and is provided with window portions for holding the ball members; and an inner ring member that is provided on the inner peripheral side of the holder and connects with the second propelling shaft and that is provided with inner ring groove portions in which the ball members are arranged and dented portions, said inner ring groove portions being provided recessed in the outer peripheral surface of the inner ring member to intersect with the outer ring groove portions, said dented portions being formed in the bottom portions of the inner ring groove portions on the second propelling shaft side so as to have a smaller diameter than the other bottom portions of the inner ring groove portions.
