This constant velocity universal joint is provided with an outside joint member 12 and an inside joint member 13 which transmits torque while permitting angular displacement by means of balls 14 between the inside joint member 13 and the outside joint member 12, wherein: an attaching and removing mechanism 33 for attaching and removing a power transmission shaft 25 to and from the inside joint member 13 is provided between the inside joint member 13 and the power transmission shaft 25 to join the power transmission shaft 25 to the inside joint member 13 in such a way that torque can be transmitted; the attaching and removing mechanism 33 is provided with a cylindrical member 34 which fits over the power transmission shaft 25, a retaining ring 35 accommodated in the cylindrical member 34 in such a way as to be capable of moving in a radial direction, and an annular member 37 disposed on an outer circumference of the cylindrical member 34 in such a way as to be capable of moving in an axial direction; and by using a boot band 54 to fixedly tighten to the power transmission shaft 25 a small diameter end portion 30 of a boot 28 which closes an opening portion 32 in the outside joint member 12, the axial direction position of the annular member 37 is restricted by the small diameter end portion 30 of the boot 28.
