A target gene-knockdown animal and a disease model animal in which mRNA of an endogenous target gene is disrupted by forming double-stranded RNA of the target gene; a method of constructing such an animal; a double-stranded RNA expression vector to be used in the construction method; and animal cells having this vector transferred thereinto.
