Abstract:
Provided is a construction machine that makes it possible to prevent cavitation and reduce power loss. The construction machine is provided with: a lower traveling body; an upper turning body; a front attachment; a plurality of hydraulic actuators comprising travel motors (13, 14); hydraulic pumps (10, 11); a plurality of control valves (16-21) for each of the hydraulic actuators; a plurality of operation devices (22-27) for each of the control valves (16-21); travel operation detectors (38, 39) that, from among the operation devices, detect operation of the operation devices (25, 26) that are for the travel motors; a back pressure compensation valve (29) that establishes back pressure in a return pipe (28) that connects each control valve and a tank and that has a set pressure that can be switched between a high-pressure setting value and a low-pressure setting value; and back pressure control units (31, 32) that perform back pressure reduction control for setting the set pressure of the back pressure compensation valve (29) to the low-pressure setting value when the travel operation amount of a travel operation device is large.
