Provided is a construction machine that can make the pressing force of a bucket during rolling compaction work be uniform without requiring an operator to do complex operations. A control device 18: determines whether rolling compaction work is being performed; calculates a front distance R, which is the distance from the pivot point of a boom 4 to a prescribed position B on the back face of a bucket 6; determines a target speed for the bucket so that the speed at which the bucket gets closer to a grade target face becomes slower as the front distance becomes larger; and notifies the operator of the work content of operation devices 9a, 9b in order to reach the target speed for the bucket during the rolling compaction work or controls hydraulic actuators 4a to 6a so that the bucket target speed is reached.
