2) “CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT APPLIED TO THE SURGICAL FIELD FOR CESAREAN DELIVERY” according to claim 1 and in a constructive variant characterized in that the transparent film (5) has an opening (9) with tilting window (10) joined by electrostatic welding (SE) on the upper part, containing an adhesive (11 ) to be affixed to the upper part of the transparent film (5) when opened.

Description:
“CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT APPLIED TO SURGICAL FIELD FOR CESAREAN DELIVERY”

[01] This is the utility model of an unprecedented surgical field to be used in cesarean delivery, allowing the possibility for the mother to see the moment of the birth of her baby, aiming at the humanization of this medical procedure.

STATE OF THE ART:

[02] Much is currently being discussed in the area of obstetrics regarding the concept of humanization of childbirth, which consists of a set of practices and procedures that aim at a more human and welcoming form of medical positioning before childbirth, including the promotion of family bonds (newborn, mother and father) as soon as possible.

[03] In recent decades, childbirth has come to be seen almost as a pathology and parturient as a patient, not actively participating in the birth process. This process is becoming less and less natural, so much so that in Brazil today there is a large governmental movement towards the humanization of obstetric care.

[04] Nowadays, when the mother needs to undergo a cesarean

(surgical) delivery, she is in horizontal dorsal decubitus, under anesthesia that prevents her free movement being covered by a surgical field with the purpose of protecting infections that prevents her from visualizing what is happening during the procedure because it is totally opaque.

PROPOSAL OF THE MODEL:

[05] Based on these questions, the inventors of this model devised a surgical field in order to promote the humanization of cesarean delivery as a surgical procedure.

[06] Aiming to achieve this improvement, a surgical field was conceived whose upper portion is composed of a double face, where the face in contact with the mother is characterized by a transparent surface that allows the patient and her companion to view the newborn at the moment of his abdominal extraction at birth.

[07] In addition, it can be composed of a“window” that allows the newborn to pass directly to the mother’s lap when he is in a good state of birth and also allows the late“clamping” of the cord without deprivation of family contact.

[08] To minimize the risk of infection, this constructive option consists of a tilting window that opens only at the moment of the newborn’s passage to the mother, closing immediately afterwards.

[09] The surgical face (in contact with doctors) is an opaque surface and continues with the rest of the material. It aims to prevent the visualization of the surgical technique itself and provides the option of total occlusion of the procedure in case of complications.

[010] With this field is promoted a better condition of humanization of the procedure and increased immediate family contact.

DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES:

[011] For a better understanding of this utility model, it will be described in more detail below with the aid of the attached figures, which:

[012] Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the surgical field in a first constructive version with the exploded double face;

[013] Figure 2 shows a perspective view of the surgical field in a first constructive version ready for use with the double face already joined by electrostatic welding;

[014] Figure 3 shows a perspective view of the surgical field in a second constructive version with a double face exploded tilt window;

[015] Figure 4 shows a perspective view of the surgical field in a second constructive version with a ready-to-use double face tilting window already joined by electrostatic welding;

[016] Figure 5 shows the surgical field applied to the surgical table with the patient ready for use, with the two double face layers covering the“metal tent”;

[017] Figure 6 shows the surgical field in a first constructive version applied to the surgical table, in a condition where the opaque upper layer of the double face would be retracted with the patient visualizing the moment of the birth of the newborn;

[018] Figure 7 shows the surgical field in a second constructive version applied to the surgical table, in a condition where the opaque upper layer of the double face is retracted with the patient visualizing the moment of the birth of the newborn; and

[019] Figure 8 shows the surgical field in a second constructive version applied to the surgical table, in a condition where the opaque upper layer of the double face is retracted and the tilting window open, ready for the moment of the newborn’s passage to the physician for the first skin-to-skin contact with the mother.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE MODEL:

[020] In accordance with the attached figures, the surgical field (1 ) for cesarean delivery is a sterile cover (2) for the protection of the procedure against infection.

[021] This sterile cover (2) is originally made of opaque material (blue or green) with central opening (3) and circular pouch (4) around for amniotic fluid containment and bleeding in the abdominal region where the operative incision is located.

[022] The cover (2) is made of opaque material to avoid contact of the patient with other surgical periods that do not interest her or for full coverage in case of complications.

[023] According to figures 1 , 2, 5 and 6, in a first constructive version of this surgical field model (1 ), the upper portion consists of a first layer formed by the opaque cover (2) and a second layer of a transparent film (5) fixed by electrostatic welding (SE), so that the cover (2) completely covers the transparent film layer (2), and the transparent film (5) also has adhesives (6) for its attachment to the“metal tent” (7) from the surgical table (8).

[024] According to figures 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8, in a second constructive version of this surgical field model (1 ), the transparent film (5) under the opaque cover (2) contains in its center an opening (9) with tilting window (10) joined by electrostatic welding (SE) at the upper part, through which birth can be viewed and the newborn can be passed to the mother for skin-to-skin contact when he is found in a good general condition.

[025] The tilting window also has an adhesive (1 1 ) to be affixed to the upper part of the transparent film (5) in the moment of its opening, preventing its closing during the passage of the newborn by physicians for the first skin-to-skin contact with the mother.
