Abstract:
The invention relates to a sensor unit for detecting the contact or proximity of an object. A server circuit of the sensor unit according to the invention is configured in such a way that the server circuit alone (i.e. without co-operation with a client circuit) can be used as a proximity sensor, but at the same time can be combined with one or more client circuits to obtain a sensor network, wherein the client circuits are preferably supplied with energy by means of the electric field of the server electrode.
