Abstract:
A contactless power transfer core to be used as a power-transmission coil or a power-reception coil of a contactless power transfer system; equipped with a winding core section (81) where an electric wire is wound and magnetic pole core sections (80) that are provided on both ends of the winding core section and constitute magnetic pole sections. The contactless power transfer core is characterized in that the height of the topmost parts of ferrite plates (80) provided on the surfaces of the magnetic core sections on the side facing the counterpart coil is equal to or greater than the circumferential height of the electric wire (50) wound around the winding core section (81), and the height of the ferrite plates on the side not facing the counterpart coil is less than the circumferential height of the electric wire (50) wound around the winding core section (81). Because the magnetic gap length (D2) can be reduced while maintaining the mechanical gap length (D1) of the coil, the inter-coil coupling factor is improved, so the power feed efficiency and the maximum feed power are increased.
