Abstract:
A rail wagon (1 ) is disclosed which includes a central spine (2) running the full length L of the wagon (1 ). A series of spaced cantilevered beams (3, 4, [5a,b], [6a,b], 7 & 8) extend transversely each side of the spine (2). The spacing between selected pairs of beams is sufficient to support respective ISO containers of 6, 9 & 12m length. At each outer end of the beams (3, 4, [5a,b], [6a,b], 7 & 8) is a twistlock (9) used to secure the respective ISO container. A pair of twin-axled bogies 10(a,b) are affixed to each end of the spine (2).
