The present invention relates to a container terminal specifically for floating transhipment, comprising: a floating structure which floats on the sea and provides a location where containers are loaded and unloaded; a receiving part provided in such a way as to receive and allow the mooring of container ships within the floating structure; a docking part provided in such a way as to allow container ships to dock at the floating structure; and a crane provided on the floating structure in such a way as to allow the loading and unloading of containers between the floating structure and container ships docked by means of the docking part. Consequently, the present invention allows transhipping between container ships to be carried out at sea, and hence is advantageous in that it resolves the problem of ensuring depth of fairways and depth at landings in existing harbour-based facilities, it allows a reduction in the number of times that container ships come alongside piers and quays at container terminals, it makes it easy to ensure berths at container terminals, and it allows transhipment cargo to be processed rapidly.
