Abstract:
In this container transfer method, containers (4) temporarily placed in a cargo handling area (10) by a carrier and containers (4) loaded in an external chassis are received, the containers (4) are carried and temporarily placed in a carrier transport path (37), and the containers (4) temporarily stored in the carrier transport path (37) are transported by a yard crane (32) and stored in a container storing block (30). In addition, containers (4) stored in the container storing block (30) are transported by the yard crane (32) and temporarily placed in the carrier transport path (37) so as to be receivable by the carrier, and the containers (4) are carried by the carrier and temporarily placed in the cargo handling area (10) as well as carried to the gate area (60) and loaded in an external chassis.
