Abstract:
A container transfer system and method. The system comprises a bridge crane (2) arranged on a dock (1) and an overhead rail (3) arranged between the dock (1) and a yard (7); the bridge crane (2) is connected to the upper end of a fastener (8) by means of a first gripper (10), the first gripper (10) is used for gripping or releasing the upper end of the fastener (8), the lower end of the fastener (8) is connected to a clamp assembly (9), and the clamp assembly (9) is used for clamping a container (5); a clamp fixing assembly (14) is arranged below the overhead rail (3), the bridge crane (2) is used for conveying the clamp assembly (9) to a position corresponding to the clamp fixing assembly (14), and the clamp fixing assembly (14) is used for fixing or releasing the clamp assembly (9); the overhead rail (3) is arranged with a second gripper (11), and the second gripper (11) is used for gripping or releasing the upper end of the fastener (8). The system is used to transfer a container, and the container does not move up and down in the height direction, so that the transfer efficiency is improved.
