Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a container for transporting cells and biological tissue, said container being suited to maintaining a cultured state during transport. [Solution] A container A10 for transporting cells and biological tissue comprises: a base member 1 having an opening 110 on the upper end and a vertically extending first cylindrical section 11; a lid 2 having a top plate 21 that closes off the opening 110, and a second cylindrical section 22 that extends in the thickness direction from the peripheral edge of the top plate 21 and fits on the first cylindrical section 11 of the base member 1; and a container body 3 that is formed separately from the base member 1 using a flexible material, said container body 3 having a bottom wall 31, a cylindrical side wall 32 that rises from the peripheral edge of the bottom wall 31 and is inserted through the opening 110, and a flange 33 that extends outward from the upper edge of the side wall 32. A locking means is provided to the first and/or second cylindrical section 11, 22, said locking means preventing relative movement between the base member 1 and the lid 2 once the flange 33 has been clamped between the peripheral edge of the opening 110 in the base member 1 and the top plate 21 of the lid 2.
