Abstract:
A container (10) comprises: an outer container part (1) having an airtight space which houses therewithin either a compound sample formed from carbon atoms or a silicon carbide compound sample and a cracking fluid which cracks the sample, said outer container part being resilient against pressure to crack the sample; and an inner container (6) which is disposed within the outer container part (1) such that the cracking fluid does not make contact with the inner wall thereof, and which houses the sample. Metallic impurities arising from the cracking fluid are thus prevented from mixing with a cracked sample.
