Abstract:
A content delivery device encodes and multiplexes media content to generate a media payload, and generates an FEC payload on the basis of the media payload. On the basis of the media payload and FEC payload, a media packet and FEC packet are generated in accordance with the characteristics of the transmitting network and are transmitted to a reception device. The reception device receives the media packet and FEC packet and restores the media payload and FEC payload. If there is an error in the media payload, the error is corrected using the FEC payload, and the media payload is then decoded and demultiplexed to decode the content. A content delivery system, etc. is therefore provided in which delay times are reduced by the efficient transfer of packets by a relay device in a delivery service, etc. for content using IP multicasting.
