Abstract:
This content-distribution system is provided with the following: gateway devices that are each connected between a wireless control device and a packet-forwarding device, and if packets received from that wireless control device satisfy a prescribed condition, cause communication in at least one direction between the wireless control device and a distribution-server device to bypass that packet-forwarding device; and cache servers that are connected to the packet-forwarding devices, wireless base-station devices, or gateway devices and temporarily store content. When a handheld terminal has moved from a first area to a second area, this control device instructs a first cache server covering the first area to send, to a second cache server covering the second area, a parameter identifying the part of the content that has already been distributed. This makes it such that when distributing content to a handheld terminal, said content distribution can be efficiently continued even if the handheld terminal moves.
