Abstract:
Disclosed is a content distribution system that can prevent processing that is redundant because of the format of a stream. In said content distribution system, which comprises a distribution server and a playback device, when the distribution server sends the playback device the aforementioned program stream and a program state flag that indicates whether or not all of the program content represented by the program stream is 3D, the playback device determines before decoding the program stream whether or not the program state flag indicates that all of the program content is 3D, and if so, plays the program stream using 3D-video playback control without checking, when decoding said program stream, whether or not each frame of the program stream is 3D.
