Abstract:

This disclosure relates to a content reproducing device and a content reproducing method which make it possible to obtain at low cost a content reproducing device capable of reproducing contents that support media transport schemes having different system clock frequencies. A content reproducing device according to one of the present disclosure is provided with: an acquiring unit which acquires a first multiplexed stream generated on the basis of a first system clock having a first frequency; a demultiplexing unit which separates encoded data and presentation time information from the acquired first multiplexed stream; a system clock generating unit which generates a second system clock having a second frequency; a converting unit which numerically converts the separated presentation time information into a value on the second frequency axis; and a decoding unit which decodes the separated encoded data and presents a decoded signal obtained as a result of the decoding, in accordance with the numerically converted presentation time information. This disclosure can for example be applied to content players and the like.
