Abstract:
Provided is a continuous casting method for steel that can prevent large fluctuations in solidification completion position from a prescribed target position even when drawing speed (V) is changed. A casting piece is drawn with a speed V0 as the drawing speed V while spraying cooling water on the casting piece for an amount of cooling water spray W0 [kg/ton - casting piece]. Next, the drawing speed V is changed from the speed V0 to a speed V1, and the casting piece is drawn with the speed V1 for the drawing speed V while cooling water is sprayed on the casting piece for a cooling water spray amount W1 [kg/ton - casting piece]. The cooling water spray amount Wt [kg/ton - casting piece], which is the cooling water spray amount W sprayed on the casting piece from a change time Tc for the drawing speed V until time t, which is obtained by dividing a target length Lt by the drawing speed V0, has passed, satisfies Equation (1) or Equation (2) below. At condition V1 < V0, Wt < W1 … (1) At condition V1 > V0, Wt > W1 … (2)
