Abstract:

A continuous hot rolling method which comprises forming abutting surfaces on steel materials to be hot rolled by cutting off a rear end portion of a precedent steel material and a front end portion of a subsequent steel material, determining a scale weight ratio by measuring the thickness of scales occurring on the abutting surfaces, calculating the amount of oxygen dissolving in a fused portion of a weld on the basis of the resultant scale weight ratio, determining a deoxidizable amount to deoxidize the calculated oxygen amount, forming a fused portion of a weld by applying laser beams to an abutted portion in which the abutting surfaces are engaged with each other, impregnating the fused portion of the weld with a deoxidizer of a capacity corresponding to the deoxidizable amount, and subjecting the fusion welded steel material to a continuous hot rooling.
