Abstract:
This device (10) for quantizing an analog input signal (Vin), in order to supply a continuous-time output signal (Bs, Benv) quantized using a plurality of bits, comprises an electronic sign analysis circuit (12), designed to supply a first signal (Bs) representative of a first sign bit of the output signal. It further comprises an electronic envelope analysis circuit (16), comprising a comparator/quantizer (18) with two inputs, one of which receives the analog input signal (Vin), designed to supply a second signal (Benv) representative of at least a second bit of the output signal, called the quantized envelope signal, and a feedback loop (20, 22) with continuous-time digital-to-analog conversion of the quantized envelope signal (Benv), disposed between the output and the other of the two inputs of the comparator/quantizer (18). The quantized envelope signal (Benv) is a signal of which a low pass filtering is representative of the amplitude of an envelope signal (Venv) of the input signal and the feedback loop (20, 22) comprises a low pass filter (22).
