Title:
CONTINUOUS-VARIATION TRANSMISSION FOR VEHICLES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2000008323
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a continuous-variation transmission (10) for vehicles that comprises three pairs of conical discs (14, 18, 22). Two pairs of conical discs (14, 18) are used for controlling the operation speed of the vehicle. The third pair of conical discs (22) is used for actuating secondary groups within a speed range that is as reduced as possible. The required technical complexity to achieve this goal is substantially reduced, and the secondary groups (26) can thus be optimally designed.
