Abstract:
A continuously variable transmission comprising a sun gear (22) connected to a driving shaft (21); a ring gear (26) coaxially disposed to be driven by receiving a rotating force from the sun gear (22), to whose rotating shaft is connected a driven shaft (27); a plurality of planetary gears (25), disposed between the sun gear (22) and the ring gear (26), for transmitting the power; a carrier (24) rotating separately from a sun gear rotating shaft (21) which penetrates a hollow part in the rotating shaft of the carrier (24), and provided to be rotatable coaxially with the sun gear (22) and the ring gear (26) while supporting many planetary gears (25); and a means for controlling the rotating speed of the carrier (24) according to the running conditions of the vehicle, having a controller and a sensor; characterized in that the optimum reduction ratio between the sun gear (22) and the ring gear (26) can be achieved in a short period of time by changes in the rotating speed of the carrier (24) and in the ratio of rotating speed between the sun gear (22) and the ring gear (26).
