Abstract:
Provided is a continuously variable transmission comprising: a transmission belt including a plurality of elements having a pair of pillar portions and a ring disposed between the pair of pillar portions in the plurality of elements; and a lubricant medium supply unit disposed on the radially inner side of the transmission belt. Each of the plurality of elements further has: a pair of locking edges formed with a gap in the width direction; and a non-contact portion that extends in the width direction along a saddle surface between the pair of locking edges. A clearance that allows the non-contact portion and a region on the radially inner side of the transmission belt to communicate with each other is formed between elements included in a wrapping portion of the transmission belt for a first or second pulley.
