Abstract:
The present invention relates to a continuously variable transmission capable of detecting a location where a malfunction occurs on the basis of a detection signal within the transmission. The continuously variable transmission of the present invention is provided with a driving pulley and a driven pulley, a V belt for transferring rotatory power of a driving shaft to a driven shaft by being wound around the driving pulley and the driven pulley, and an actuating pulley disk which is included in either the driving pulley or the driven pulley and moves along a direction of a pulley shaft so as to adjust the width of the pulley on which the V belt is wound, and the continuously variable transmission comprises: a displacement control motor for generating rotation in order to adjust the amount of movement of the actuating pulley disk; a motion conversion member which moves in an axial direction by receiving the rotatory power of the displacement control motor, and which also moves the actuating pulley disk; a driving shaft revolution number detection sensor for detecting the number of revolutions of the driving shaft; a driven shaft revolution number detection sensor for detecting the number of revolutions of the driven shaft; a displacement sensor provided to detect the amount of movement of the motion conversion member; and a controller for controlling the driven shaft such that the driven shaft outputs a certain number of revolutions by adjusting the rotation of the displacement control motor according to the number of revolutions of the driving shaft detected by the driving shaft revolution number detection sensor, wherein the controller detects a malfunction occurrence location on the basis of measurement values of the driven shaft revolution number detection sensor and the displacement sensor and of the number of revolutions of the displacement control motor.
