A continuously variable transmission is provided with: a primary pulley oil chamber (41c); a secondary pulley oil chamber (42c); a first oil passage (109) connected to the secondary pulley oil chamber (42c); a second oil passage (106) branching from the first oil passage (109) and connected to the primary pulley oil chamber (41c); an electric oil pump (112) provided in the second oil passage (106); and an oil discharging mechanism (120, 121) for discharging oil supplied to the primary pulley oil chamber (41c) by the electric oil pump (112) to the outside of the second oil passage (106).
