Abstract:
This continuously variable transmission control method detects the magnitude of an acceleration request, and if the acceleration request exceeds a preset threshold, controls the shift ratio by switching from a first shift mode in which the target shift ratio is changed to continuously variable to a second shift mode in which a change to a stepped target shift ratio is included. When executing the second shift mode, the target engine speed is set in accordance with the magnitude of the acceleration request, and upon starting acceleration, a stepped downshift that lowers the target shift ratio in a stepped manner is executed in accordance with the target engine speed, and the target engine speed is maintained for a prescribed period after execution of the stepped downshift.
