Abstract:
In order to reduce the friction of pulley rotation in a continuously variable transmission in which a mechanical actuator is used to move a moveable sheave in the axial direction, this continuously variable transmission is equipped with a primary and a secondary pulley, a belt, and a mechanical pulley movement mechanism (30) for adjusting the transmission ratio. The mechanical pulley movement mechanism (30) is equipped with: a torque cam mechanism (40) that has a first and a second cam (42, 44), in which the first cam is directly connected to a moveable sheave (12), and the overall length of which changes when the rotational phase of the second cam with respect to the first cam is changed, thereby moving the moveable sheave in the axial direction; an actuator (70) for changing or fixing the rotational phase; and a first planetary gear mechanism (50) in which one of three rotary elements is coupled to the first cam (42) via a power transmission mechanism (60), one of the remaining rotary elements is coupled to the second cam (44), and the final rotary element is coupled to the actuator. The transmission ratio of the power transmission mechanism is set such that when the transmission ratio is fixed the first and second cams rotate in the same direction at the same speed.
