Title:
CONTRAST AGENT COMPOSITION FOR DETECTING LESIONAL MARGINS OF ASTROCYTOSIS-RELATED DISEASES COMPRISING QUINOLINE DERIVATIVE AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/210962
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a contrast agent composition for astrocytosis diagnosis, the detection of reactive astrocytes, and image acquisition for brain tumor margins. The present invention presents accurate locations of clustered areas of astrocytes in various diseases accompanied by excessive proliferation or activation of the cells and provides highly reliable information on margins between lesion areas and surrounding normal areas, and thus, particularly, can be effectively used in diagnostic imaging for image-guided surgery such as in surgical resection of brain tumors and the like. Moreover, the present invention indicates not only simply whether the disease is present at the time of examination but also provides the process of change in the margin around the lesion and the extent thereof with high temporal resolution, and thus, based on same, the present invention can be effectively used for early detection of future recurrence or metastasis of tumors and furthermore to evaluate therapeutic responsiveness to specific drugs.
