Abstract:
A control apparatus for a compression auto-ignition engine. The control apparatus comprises an engine 1, an ignition plug 25, a controller (ECU10), and sensors SW1–SW16. After the ignition plug has ignited an air-fuel mixture and combustion has begun, unburned air-fuel mixture combusts by auto-ignition. The controller alters an SI rate in accordance with the operating state of the engine. The controller also adjusts the SI rate when it has been determined that the SI rate needs adjustment.
