Abstract:
The present invention provides a control device for an automatic transmission, comprising an engine 1, an automatic transmission provided with a torque converter 2 having a lockup clutch 2a and a stepped transmission mechanism 3, and an AT controller 10 that performs shift control of the stepped transmission mechanism 3. The AT controller 10 is provided with a forced downshift control processing unit 10a that performs a forced downshift when an accelerator foot release operation is performed during an auto upshift in a power-on state in which the lockup clutch 2a is engaged. The forced downshift control processing unit 10a starts the forced downshift before the revolution speed of the engine 1 (engine revolution speed Ne), which has been lowered by the auto upshift, reaches a lockup release revolution speed Ne (LU/OFF). As a result, when the accelerator foot release operation is performed during the auto upshift in the lockup engagement state, no discomfort is given to the driver.
