Abstract:
This control device of a compression autoignition engine is provided with an engine (1), a state quantity setting device (23, 24, 43, 48, 54), a spark plug (25), a controller (ECU10), and sensors (SW1-SW16). In the case that the operation state of the engine is in a prescribed operation region, the spark plug ignites the air-fuel mixture at a prescribed timing such that, after combustion through flame propagation, the air-fuel mixture combusts through autoignition. The state quantity setting device adjusts at least one of the introduction amount of fresh air and the residual amount and reflux amount of the burnt gas such that the temperature prior to compression start in the combustion chamber increases as the rotation speed of the engine becomes higher.
