Abstract:
In the present invention, a control device for a compression ignition-type engine is provided with a controller configured such that, when the running state of an engine main body is in a compression ignition zone, the engine main body is run by compression ignition combustion. When the running state of the engine main body is within a light load zone in which the load is below a predetermined load in the compression ignition zone, the controller sets the timing for fuel injection via a fuel injection valve to be prior to the first half of a compression stroke, and introduces ozone into the cylinder by means of an ozone generator. Further, when the running state of the engine main body is within the light load zone, the controller sets the ozone concentration on the high-speed side to be below that on the low-speed side.
