Abstract:
A control device for a continuously variable transmission that is provided with a primary pulley (30), a secondary pulley (40) and a pulley belt (50), and in which gear change control for changing the pulley gear ratio is accomplished by control of a primary pressure (Ppri) and secondary pressure (Psec). Provided is a control device for a belt-type continuously variable transmission (CVT), said control device being equipped with a CVT controller (15), which, during a downshift request associated with deceleration, performs return-to-low promoting control, wherein by at least reducing the primary pressure (Ppri), the differential pressure between the secondary pressure (Psec) and the primary pressure (Ppri) is increased. When performing return-to-low promoting control, the CVT controller (15) sets a secondary pressure lower limit, which is the lower limit for the secondary pressure (Psec), to a value higher than the minimum secondary pressure necessary to keep belt slippage with respect to input torque to the secondary pulley (40) from occurring.
