Abstract:
Provides is a control device for a DC motor, capable of generating highly accurate positional information while using output signals from inexpensive hall elements, as a multi-rotational absolute position encoder. In the control device for a DC motor, an encoder comprises: a flat plate-like magnet fixed to one end of a rotation shaft of a rotor; and two sets of hall-element groups fixed to a housing side of the motor at positions opposed to the magnet. The two sets of hall-element groups include a first hall-element group having three hall elements disposed at equal intervals on a single circumference centered around a rotational center of the rotation shaft, and a second hall-element group having three hall elements disposed at an intermediate position of the first hall-element group via equal intervals on the same circumference with the first hall-element group. A control unit has a function of setting a position on a boundary line of an N-pole region and an S-pole region of the magnet as an original position of the magnet, generating and outputting signals of a phase-A and a phase-B with rotation of the rotation shaft on the basis of output from the two sets of hall-element groups, and generating information on the original position of the magnet.
