A control device: finds an assistance torque of an electric power steering device on the basis of a steering torque and compensates the assistance torque; varies a change amount of a compensation amount on the basis of the steering torque; and as a frequency of an external disturbance affecting a steering system increases, increases the compensation amount to cancel out an external disturbance of the assistance torque.
