The disclosed device suppresses aliasing during current sampling whilst using an arithmetic processing unit having limited processing capacity and even when the electric motor rotational speed is high. The disclosed control device for controlling current feedback in an AC electric motor is provided with a control mode selection unit for selecting either a synchronous control mode, which synchronises the electrical angle cycle of an AC electric motor and the switching cycle of an inverter, or an asynchronous control mode, which generates a switching control signal on the basis of a carrier. When the synchronous control mode is selected: current detection processing (IS), for detecting the current running through coils in the AC electric motor, is executed for each reference computation cycle (TO), which is set at 1/2 the carrier cycle; voltage control processing (VC) is executed at a cycle which is N times the reference computation cycle (TO) (where N is an integer not less than 2), and N number of batches of detected current value, as detected by performing current detection processing (IS) N number of times, is fed-back and voltage control processing (VC) is executed once.
