Abstract:
A high-pressure pump (20) comprising: a plunger (22) that reciprocally moves in conjunction with the rotation of a rotating axis (24) and whereby the capacity of a pressurizing chamber (25) can be varied; and a control valve (30) having a first valve body (34) and a second valve body (37) that are arranged in a fuel intake passage (26) connected to the pressurizing chamber (25), that supplies and cuts off fuel to the pressurizing chamber (25) by displacing the valve bodies in the axial direction by switching between making a coil (33) conductive and non-conductive. An ECU (50) adjusts the fuel discharge amount of the high-pressure pump (20) by switching between opening and closing the control valve (30) by controlling conductivity of the coil (33). In addition, the ECU (50) detects the movement of the valve bodies relative to the open/close valve drive commands for the control valve (30), and determines high-pressure pump (20) operation on the basis of the detection results.
