Abstract:
In order to prevent the occurrence of a shock when the slip polarity of a second clutch shifts to a negative slip after the start of engine start control, a control device for a hybrid vehicle is provided with an engine (1), a motor generator (2), a first clutch (4), a second clutch (5), and an engine start control means (Fig. 11). The first clutch (4) is interposed between the engine (1) and the motor generator (2). The second clutch (5) is interposed between the motor generator (2) and tires (7, 7). The engine start control means (Fig. 11) comprises a negative slip detection/prediction unit which, after the start of engine start control, detects or predicts whether the slip polarity of the second clutch (5) has shifted from positive slip to negative slip (step S511), and a forced backup start control unit which, when the shift to the negative step of the second clutch (5) is detected or predicted, brings the second clutch (5) into a completely engaged state and starts the engine (step S514 to step S519).
