Abstract:
This control device is applied to a hybrid vehicle having an internal combustion engine capable of changing the operation mode, during operation, between lean combustion and stoichiometric combustion. The control device preferentially selects an operation mode that has high system efficiency relative to the requested power, and selects the stoichiometric combustion mode (S104) in the case of specific conditions that the system efficiency be higher in lean combustion mode than in EV mode and the system efficiency be lower in stoichiometric combustion mode than in EV mode, and also in the case of the temperature (Tnc) of an exhaust purification catalyst being equal to or less than a first predetermined value (Tα) (S101, S102).
