Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a control device for an in-vehicle solar cell that allows for MPPT control that is able to respond to fluctuations in sunshine conditions on a vehicle while minimizing power consumption. To address this problem, the present invention provides a control device (14) which implements at least MPPT control for the output of a solar cell mounted on a vehicle, characterized in that the control device is provided with determining units (14a, 14b) for determining whether a vehicle is in a travelling state or in a stopped state and changes the method of control depending on whether the vehicle is determined to be in a travelling state or a stopped state. In particular, the control device shortens the length of the control cycle of MPPT control when the vehicle is determined to be in a travelling state in comparison to when the vehicle is determined to be in a stopped state, or restricts the output control for the solar cell if the vehicle speed is greater than or equal to a predetermined speed when the vehicle is determined to be in a travelling state, in comparison to when the vehicle speed is less than the predetermined speed (this restriction is, for example, increasing the length of the control cycle of MPPT control compared to when the vehicle speed is less than the predetermined speed, or controlling the output of the solar cell to a fixed voltage).
