Abstract:
A control device for an internal combustion engine equipped with a supercharger, which is driven by exhaust energy, and an adjustable valve mechanism, said control device being equipped with: a valve timing adjustment means that controls the adjustable valve mechanism; an ignition timing adjustment means; a fuel injection rate adjustment means; an acceleration request detection means; a boost pressure detection means; and an acceleration control means that adjusts the fuel injection rate when an acceleration request is detected so that the fuel-air mixture of the scavenging gas and the exhaust gas achieves a readily-combustible air/fuel ratio by retarding the ignition timing when in a low-boost range in which the boost pressure is lower than a prescribed value, and by stopping the retardation of the ignition timing and setting a valve overlap when in a high-boost range in which the boost pressure is equal to or greater than the prescribed value.
