Abstract:
A control device for an internal combustion engine that controls a direct-injection spark-ignition internal combustion engine equipped with a fuel injection valve for injecting fuel into the cylinders, and spark plugs for igniting an air-fuel mixture in the cylinders, wherein under specific operation conditions, fuel is injected in an expansion stroke, and ignition is carried out after the fuel is injected in the expansion stroke. In this internal combustion engine control device the interval between the fuel injection timing in the expansion stroke and the ignition timing is shortened as a delay in the ignition timing increases.
