Abstract:
In a control device for an internal combustion engine and combustion chamber wall temperature estimation method according to the present invention: the difference between an estimated combustion chamber wall temperature value and a detected cooling water temperature value obtained at the beginning of fuel cut is calculated; an integrated value of intake air amount after the fuel cut began is calculated; the difference data is reduced with increase in the integrated value of intake air amount; an estimated combustion chamber wall temperature value during the fuel cut is calculated on the basis of a detected cooling water temperature value and the difference data; and ignition timing and fuel injection amount are corrected on the basis of the estimated wall temperature value when the supply of fuel is resumed.
