Abstract:
Disclosed are a control device, method, and program capable of improving operability with a simpler configuration than previously possible. A player device (11) that plays music and other audio is configured of earphones (21) that are fitted upon a user's ears, and a main body (22). Sound gathering units (31) gather audio in the vicinity of the player device (11); and assessment units (34) extract feature values from the audio thus gathered and assesses whether the audio is a control sound that occurs upon the sound gathering units (31) as a result of a direct impact by the user. A control unit (35) executes a process corresponding to the result of the determination by the assessment units (34). If the sound gathering unit (31-1) is impacted one time only within a prescribed time, for example, the control unit (35) controls a play control unit (39) to stop playing a music track. It is possible to control all types of functions of the play device (11) with the simple operation of impacting upon the sound gathering units (31), eliminating the need for installing buttons or other controls. It is possible to apply the present invention to music players.
