Abstract:
A control device and a control method for a backlight of a display panel of a refrigerator are provided. The device comprises a control panel connected to the backlight and a distance-detecting sensor for detecting the distance between a human body entering into a detecting area and the refrigerator. The distance-detecting sensor is connected with the control panel which controls the on-off of the backlight according to signals from the distance-detecting sensor. The method comprises: detecting the distance between the human body entering into the detecting area and the refrigerator by using the distance-detecting sensor; controlling the on-off of the backlight by the control panel according to signals from the distance-detecting sensor. As the sensor is used to detect the distance between the human body and the refrigerator, and thereby to control the on-off of the backlight, users can observe the information on the display panel without touching or manipulating a display screen.
