Abstract:
In the present invention a rotor position determination unit 10 uses induced voltages Vu, Vv, and Vw generated in each phase U, V, and W of an armature winding 5 to identify the rotor position. While a field current flowing in a field winding 3 is rising toward a target value (while the field current is changing over time), an induced voltage is generated in each phase of an armature winding 5 by means of a time derivative of the magnetic flux interlinked with the armature winding 5. The rotor position determination unit 10 identifies the rotor position (the d-axis of a rotor 4) on the basis of a table created by combining the polarity with the amplitude ratio of the induced voltage generated for each phase.
