Abstract:
The present invention improves safety by enabling an operator to smoothly take over a pedal operation. According to the present invention, when mode switching from an automatic driving mode to a manual driving mode is started, an accelerator position is calculated corresponding to the vehicle speed at that moment. A control signal based on the accelerator position is transmitted to an actuator 13, and the pressing position of an accelerator pedal 10 is temporarily held at a vehicle speed corresponding position by the actuator 13. When foot placing on the accelerator pedal 10 is detected from this state, the accelerator pedal 10 pressed at a position corresponding to the vehicle speed is gradually released from the driving force of the actuator 13 to a level followable by the driver.
